Recording Rules
Participants must submit their performances as individual recordings on shared with use via Google Drive/public or other sharing plateform.
The video recordings must be taken from one fixed camera angle, showing participants’ hands, side of face, and pedals.
The recordings must not include any editing, breaks, or digital effects.
Memorization is required. Each piece is required to be performed in its entirety without repeats.
Submission
Applicants may submit their videos through Google Drive, WeTransfer, or some video or file sharing platform. All videos must be in .mp4 file format
Each video file or title of the video should be named ‘2025 Young Artist Audition Video: (Composer Name)(Level)(Category):(Applicant Name) (Age)’. There will be a form field requesting for the link to the video in the online application form.
If submitted through Google Drive, the videos must be shared with USYoungPianistsCompetition@gmail.com, and titled ‘2025 Young Pianist Audition Video: 2025 Young Artist Audition Video: (Composer Name)(Level)(Category)(Applicant Name)(Age).
If applicants choose to share their videos by e-mail, the files must be sent to USYoungPianistsCompetition@gmail.com. Applicants must change the subject of the e-mail to ‘2025 Young Pianists Audition Video: (Applicant Name)’.
Categories
There are 40 competition categories, each with a pre-selected music. All contestants will be performing the same music in each of the events.
There is no age limit for these categories, and contestants may enter numerous categories as they choose.
Students may compete in as many categories and/or levels of their desire. For example students can compete in both Level 3, Category A and Level 6, Category B.
Any contestants playing an incorrect piece will be disqualified to win a prize.
Previous Winners
Popular Piano Pieces may be selected at multiple years, applicants can’t submit to the same Piano Pieces twice if they have already received the First Prize or Grand Champion in previous years.
Application Costs
The entry fee is $60 per piece submitted. Grand Champion award winners will receive $50 cash prize, as a refund back to the credit card. During the late period from 6/11 to 6/17, there is a late fee of $10 for each piece. Winner’s Physical Certificate is $10 each for purchase.
Disclaimer
The jury and competition administrative staff reserve the right to disqualify contestants for any reason, such as giving false information on application forms or falsifying their recordings.
Judges’ decisions are final. For each competition category, First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize and Honorable Mention will be awarded. Grand Champion will be awarded if the contestants received a full score from the judges. All videos of Grand Champion Prize winners and the First Prize winners will be shown on the US Young Pianists Competition’s YouTube page. Winners’ certificates will be emailed in PDF form to winners.
